The Axis deer were introduced into Texas from India in 1932, since then they have spread across the greener areas of Texas and adapted well. We have seen as many as 100 at a time on our property alone. We do feed them every evening and typically will have 30 to 80 Axis mixed with 15 to 30 or so white tails. The winter time usually has about twice as many deer looking for food. The Axis are non seasonal and will have fawns year around, the bucks also grow and lose their horns year around. Comfort Texas.
