It is essential that the tank quick drain is the correct drain that pull fuel from the slots in the bottom of the nutplate. Any other drain can only drain from the top of the nutplate creating a dangerous standpipe effect and not allow the water to drain. Not only does the water cause a danger of engine stoppage but it can delaminate the inner skins inside the tank. This photo shows the rivets (attaching the drain) that commonly become stretched due to over torque of the drain.
